I have always been a lukewarm fan of Batman. The comic books I've been a fan of since childhood, but the movies have pretty much left me cold. Yeah, even the first Tim Burton "Batman". I thought it dull. But Batman Begins got the darkness of the comic book, I thought. The Dark Knight captured it perfectly. Never has there been a villian in a comic book movie as purposefully evil as the Joker here. The stakes are so high, the philosophical games lothesome, the action intense. To me, this is the perfect summer blockbuster.
